Universal Feed Controller

The GUC-F universal feeder controller enables additional feeding capacity. The device automates control over weighing, dosing, and feeding from up to four feeders on up to four different processing lines from a single human-machine interface (HMI) screen. Users can preconfigure the controller based on the type of feeder, required modes of operation, and use of frequency converters. The controller is suitable for food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other powder and bulk material feeding processes. The automated feeder control system may be installed with new feeders or retrofitted onto existing feeders.

Metal Analyzer Offers Fast, Efficient Calibration

The SPECTROMAXx LMX10 arc/spark optical emission spectrometry (OES) analyzer provides accurate elemental analysis of metals. It features the iCAL 2.0 calibration logic, which requires only five minutes and a single sample per day for calibration. The calibration automatically compensates for most changes in environmental temperature or pressure. Conventional analyzers may need at least 30 min for standardization and reruns whenever site conditions change. The analyzer is available in two models. The basic SPECTROMAXx features a single air optic while the SPECTROLAB S has state-of-the-art complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensors that extend the relevant and applicable elemental wavelength range from 233 nm to 670 nm. It features an ultraviolet (UV) optic that handles a lower spectral range, from 120 nm to 235 nm. In addition, the analyzer allows for a total shutdown of argon flow during standby periods to reduce consumables costs.

The SPE-Express 2 system automates the extraction of oil and grease components from sample media using a solid-phase extraction (SPE) disk, saving hours of time in the lab. Components are eluted from the SPE disk using n-hexane and collected in an aluminum pan. Corrosion under insulation (CUI) occurs when insulated pipework and other equipment are exposed to high temperatures and temperature fluctuations. CUI is difficult to detect and can cause extensive damage before it is spotted, requiring costly repair work and long periods of plant shutdown. The coating offers significantly higher crack resistance at high temperatures than traditional epoxy phenolic coatings, reducing the risk of cracking and premature failure during service. The coating is suitable for use in a wide range of temperatures from –10°C (14°F) to 275°C (527°F).
