James Torres

James E. Torres is the Senior Process Safety Advisor at the Albemarle® Process Development Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After receiving B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, James has spent a twenty-nine year career with Albemarle advancing diverse assignments in Flame Retardant Applications Research, Customer Technical Service, Process Evaluation, Corporate Process Design, Process Development, Reactive Hazards Evaluation, and Process Safety. For the last twenty-four years, James has served as a member or technical advisor of the site Emergency Response Team. James is the recipient of eight patents and numerous Albemarle technology awards. He is currently a Functional Safety Practitioner preparing for the CFSE exam.
