Irshad Kammakakam

Dr. Irshad Kammakakam is a postdoctoral research scholar in the Chemical & Biological Engineering Department at the University of Alabama. He works with Prof. Jason E. Bara on the development of advanced high-performance ionenes as polymer gas separation membranes. He has focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of functional polymers and porous materials for applications in gas separation, CO2 capture, water filtration, and energy conversion and storage. He has published 20 peer-reviewed journals, 6 patents, and approximately 25 international proceedings in this area.
