Research is often challenged to move faster and spend less time in the lab to increase the speed to the market. However, there are times where a little more time in the lab generates better outcomes for customer satisfaction and product quality. This work will highlight some key tools such as online analytical tools, automated parallel reactors, and Design of Experiments that were used for process development of an organosilicone compound. By utilizing the correct tools in specific stages of commercialization, the balance between research quality and speed to the market was optimized.
