The OSHA Model of Process Safety Management presented by Don Connolley, Process Safety Group Manager at aeSolutions

Don has spent the bulk of his career as a Process Safety professional, devoting the last 40 of his 43 years in the “working world” in Process Safety in the chemical/petrochemical/petroleum industries.  He cut his teeth in Process Safety at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA, as a member of the Hazards Analysis team.  He was then in the American Cyanamid Corporate Loss Prevention group as a Process Safety Engineer.  His next stop was with Akzo Nobel Chemicals Americas, where he was first the Process Safety Specialist and then the Manager of Safety Health.  His final operating company experience was with BP as first a Refining Process Safety Advisor, and then a Downstream Process Safety Technical Authority.  He has been a Process Safety consultant for the past four years, currently with aeSolutions.  He has a BS Chemistry from the University of Miami and a MS Chemical Engineering from Clemson University.  He has been a member of AIChE since 1986 and a Certified Safety Professional since 1988.  He has participated in CCPS since 1988 as a representative to the Technical Steering Committee, served on numerous CCPS subcommittees, and has served as a session chair or conference chair for the CCPS Conference of the Global Congress on Process Safety for the past 15 years (currently is the 2023 CCPS Conference Vice-Chair and will be the 2024 CCPS Conference Chair).  He served on the American Chemistry Council Process Safety Committee while with Akzo Nobel, and has been a member of the API Facility Siting Committee since 2009.
