John H. Lienhard is the Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT. His contributions include fundamental studies of the thermodynamics of desalination, of liquid jet impingement cooling, and of transport in thermally stratified flows, as well as applied research and technology development in thermal and membrane‐based desalination, extremely high heat flux engineering, and temperature control of electronics test equipment.
