Planning Your Legacy Supports Future Generations

August is national make-a-will month. For many of us busy professionals, this friendly reminder is the opportunity and motivation we need to plan our future by developing an estate plan and selecting organizations to which to make a bequest gift.

The AIChE® Foundation is eternally grateful for the AIChE Legacy Society.  This community of generous donors was established in 2007, through the leadership of Glenn Taylor, AIChE Fellow and AIChE Foundation Emeritus Trustee. His foresight ensures the advancement of AIChE’s programs for the next generation.  “With the establishment of the Legacy Society, AIChE had provided members and friends the opportunity to make an endowment bequest knowing their gift will give back in perpetuity. The gift can be directed to your preferred area of interest or to the general Endowment Fund. I am proud to be one of the founding members.”

Legacy giving can open doors and provide opportunities across the Institute. For example, AIChE member, Floyd Newburn, generously listed AIChE as a beneficiary in his Foundation’s trust. Each year AIChE receives a gift to the Annual Fund which supports a diverse group of volunteer-led projects, including those which provide access to underrepresented individuals, who aspire to be chemical engineers and pursue STEM careers.
