Alan Aspuru-Guzik

Alán Aspuru-Guzik’s research lies at the interface of computer science with chemistry and physics. He works in the integration of robotics, machine learning and high-throughput quantum chemistry for the development of materials acceleration platforms. These “self-driving laboratories” promise to accelerate the rate of scientific discovery, with applications to clean energy and optoelectronic materials. Alán also develops quantum computer algorithms for quantum machine learning and has pioneered quantum algorithms for the simulation of matter. He is jointly appointed as a Professor of...Read more

Mo Li

Dr. Mo Li is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil Engineering, and M.S. in Industrial and Operations Engineering, all from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Li’s research is in developing next-generation materials and advanced manufacturing methods for building safer, more sustainable, and energy-efficient structures for civil, energy, and defense applications. At UCI she directs the Advanced Multifunctional...Read more

Michael E. Mackay

Michael E. Mackay, PhD, received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering with distinction from the University of Delaware then worked for Procter and Gamble prior to attending graduate school at the University of Illinois (Urbana) where he received M.S. and PhD degrees in chemical engineering. He subsequently became a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Melbourne (Australia) and then has had academic positions at the University of Queensland (Australia), Stevens Institute of Technology, Michigan State University and is presently a Distinguished Professor in the departments of...Read more

Paul Olubummo

Dr. Paul Olubummo received his MSc and PhD degree in Polymer Material Science from the Martin Luther University, Halle Germany. He joined Chevron Oronite after his PhD where he developed polymeric materials for engine oil additives. He then joined HP Labs where he is currently a Senior Research Engineer leading the research into development of materials and agents for 3D print and digital manufacturing. Dr Olubummo's research is in the broad field of polymeric materials and focuses on developing fundamental understanding of material properties of functional materials through...Read more

Jason Killgore

Jason leads the Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing project in the Applied Chemicals and Materials Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. His research develops novel measurement techniques to enable characterization of the vat photopolymerization process, in situ, with voxel and sub-voxel scale resolution. Methods reveal the presence and origin of micron scale defects and heterogeneities that limit adoption of vat photopolymerization for critical applications.  Currently, Jason is deploying an atomic force microscope, modified with a digital light projection...Read more
