XYMARA Fireball Pigment

The XYMARA Fireball “color-travel” effect pigment has very high durability, making it suitable for high-performance applications, including exterior automotive coatings and such consumer goods as mobile phones and electronic devices. This pigment highlights the shape of an object, and can vary its shade from orange/gold to deep cherry red, depending on the angle of observation. Its platelet character can add a discreet decorative sparkle when used in an effect color formulation.

SPUR+ 3100HM prepolymer and SPUR+ 3200HM prepolymer silylated-polyurethane resins

SPUR+ 3100HM prepolymer and SPUR+ 3200HM prepolymer silylated-polyurethane resins are high-performance, low-viscosity binding agents that impart high tensile strength to structural adhesives. They function without requiring primers for most substrates, and can be applied in both one- and two-part adhesive formulations. These additives provide excellent water and chemical resistance, as well as high thermal resistance. Their shelf life is about 12 months, and they are formulated without plasticizers and contain no free isocyanites.

Thurmalox 218 Primer/219 Topcoat protective coating system

To prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI) and protect equipment exposed to high heat and severe thermal conditions, the Thurmalox 218 Primer/219 Topcoat protective coating system can be applied directly by brush, roller or spray to hot surfaces, allowing users to treat hot equipment without first shutting it down. The system is effective at temperatures from ambient to 450_F, including in many applications that involve continuous and rapid wet-dry-wet thermal cycling.

GFO packing

GFO packing is a high-performance composite material, designed and engineered for use as compression packing for sealing shafts on high-speed pumps, mixers, agitators, and any other equipment with rotating or reciprocating shafts. This material does not become hard or brittle, thus minimizing shaft wear. Its excellent lubricity and high-thermal conductivity keep it cool-running. It can be installed as a facility’s sole packing material, eliminating the costly confusion associated with installing multiple types of packing.

Songnox line of antioxidants

Several advancements have led to the development of new materials in the Songnox line of antioxidants. Songnox 2500 is a hydroquinone-based antioxidant used in medical adhesives and elastomers, as an anti-scorch in wire and cable, and as a color-forming agent in chemical films. Because it is not a phenol, it works in oxygen-deficient conditions.

MasterSil 151 low-viscosity silicone compound

MasterSil 151 is a two-component, low-viscosity silicone compound suitable for high-performance casting, potting and encapsulation. This formulation can be cured at room temperature with little shrinkage. It has excellent electrical insulation properties and optical clarity. With high tensile strength, an elongation at break of 160%, and a Shore A hardness of 45, it is tough and flexible. It has a dielectric strength of 460 V/mil and an operating temperature range of –65°F to +400°F.

Niax Y-16045 silicone surfactant

The Niax Y-16045 silicone surfactant is a non-hydrolyzable silicone copolymer suitable for formulation into resin blends for manufacturing rigid polyurethane foams. Its potential to substantially increase emulsion stability when the resin components are blended make this compound suitable for manufacturing flexible metal-faced laminated boardstock, rigid metal-faced boardstock and bunstock blown with hydrocarbons. The fine, regular structure of the foams produced with this surfactant results in low thermal conductivity. 

Thermbond Formula 2000 Series refractories

Thermbond Formula 2000 Series refractories provide improved abrasion resistance and physical strength in aluminum and petrochemical applications. For use in the production of aluminum, Formula 2104-L has proven successful in extending the life of sills, ramps and floors — areas subject to the most mechanical and physical abuse. For the petrochemical industry, and in particular for fluidized catalytic cracking units (FCCU), Formula 2112-R was developed as a highly abrasion-resistant rammable material for erosion-resistant linings, including cyclones and risers.

Versaflex Si silica dispersant

Extensive studies show that the Versaflex Si silica dispersant is able to increase silica solubility by more than 2.5 times, allowing cooling systems to run at higher cycles of concentration without experiencing troublesome silica fouling. Because silica exists in so many different forms, however, the firm recommends that a program of actual field trials be implemented in order to determine the optimum concentrations and system conditions for use of the silica dispersant. Versaflex Si products are available in bulk, intermediate bulk and 55-gal drums.

Plastistrength 810 (P810) polymeric process aid

The Plastistrength 810 (P810) polymeric process aid was designed to address some of the key technical issues encountered with engineering plastic compositions, such as those based on polycarbonate (PC) and styrenic matrices (e.g., acrylonitrile butadiene styrene [ABS]). Low loadings of P810 allow fast extrusion throughput owing to a strong antisticking performance without any significant impact on melt viscosity. This additive could be substituted for any of the organic fatty esters currently used as mold-release agents.
