Use Cloud Tools to Collaborate

Internet-based applications are changing the way chemical engineers collaborate. These virtual tools can help project teams make decisions more quickly, reduce costs, and increase productivity.

Wiki, Skype, Yammer, Huddle. The vocabulary of collaboration is changing as interactive, Internet-based technologies become more widely used in the work environment. Effective collaboration among work team members has long required physical proximity or in-person meetings, supplemented by frequent phone calls, overnight packages, and, more recently, emails. Today, Internet — or cloud — applications (apps) are changing the way teams collaborate. The new online tools allow people to work with others globally or locally without meeting face-to-face.
