Logo Use Policy

Our logo is the most basic and important brand identifer of the American Institue of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). The following section contains rules for applying the logo correctly and demonstrating how it may or may not be applied. All statements in this section should be viewed as rules. Compliance is essential for proper and effective brand identification. Changes or alterations are not permitted.

The Symbol and Wordmark below were designed to work together as shown. They are only to be used as one unit, and never separated or abbreviated unless approved by AIChE.

Tagline

Our tagline is The Global Home of Chemical Engineers.

Size

To maintain the quality and legibility of the logo, retain the minimum dimensions shown below. If the space is too small to accommodate the logo, please use the name as follows: American Institute of Chemical Engineers (9 pt. Helvetica).

The recommended minimum size is 1.25”. It should be readable. This minimum size is determined by the distance between the left side of the A and the right side of the registration mark.

Incorrect Usage

The integrity of the AIChE logo must be respected at all times. Do not alter the logo in anyway. Alterations make for unbalanced and unattractive visual communication.

  • Never alter the relationship of the size of the symbol to the size of the name.
  • Never use a typeface other than what is provided in the logo.
  • Never use the logo on a color background that does not provide sufficient contrast for legibility.
  • Never reproduce the logo in any other color but those specified.
  • Never distort the logo. When working in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) be sure to select LOCK ASPECT RATIO under the menu for sizing pictures.
