Mr. Lowry works in the BakerRisk San Antonio office in the Blast Effects Section as a Senior Engineer. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008 and his Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering in December of 2010. During his graduate work, he authored three journal publications and four conference papers, giving presentations at four national and international conferences and symposia ranging from Glasgow, Scotland to Beijing, China. His current work is focused on analytical explosion analyses using approaches ranging from simplified (e.g., blast curve methods, NFPA 68, etc.) to detailed (i.e., Computational Fluid Dynamics). In addition, his work over the last 11 years has included over 40 accident investigations, high-pressure hazards testing, experimental combustion research involving a wide range of hydrocarbons, hydrogen, and fuel-air-inert systems, and several journal/conference publications. Hydrogen systems and facilities have been a particular focus over the last 5 years.
