I completed my PhD at Mississippi State University in 2008 under the direction of Rafael Hernandez. I then began a post-doctoral position at the same institution where I determined the reaction pathways for phospholipid conversions to renewable diesel. I am currently an assistant professor of chemical engineering at the Dan F Smith Department of Chemical Engineering at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Research interests include: catalytic transformation of recalcitrant molecules (such as carbon dioxide) into useful fuels and chemicals; minimization of byproduct and wastewater in the biodiesel industry; and catalyst synthesis for the hydrotreating of phospholipids.
