Mikhail Skliar a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. He is the author of over 90 research papers and patents in diverse areas which include state and parameter estimation, control of medical therapies and devices, image-based modeling and control, and sensor development for material characterization and biomedical applications. Dr. Skliar is a recipient of several awards, including the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the American Heart Association Established Investigator Award. He served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions of Control Systems Technology and as a Guest Editor of the International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. He co-founded two start-up companies created to commercialize the results of his research.
