Dan Vladimir Nichita holds MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Ploiesti, Romania, both in petroleum engineering and was a senior researcher and head of laboratory with the Research Institute of Petrom (the National Romanian Oil Company) in Bucharest. He also was postdoctoral fellow at the Reservoir Engineering Research Institute in Palo Alto, CA (1999), visiting scientist at the French Petroleum Institute (IFP) in Paris (2001-2002) and distinguished visiting researcher at Instituto Mexicano del Petroleo (2033-3004) before joining the University of Pau in 2005 as senior researcher (directeur de recherche) at CNRS. He also acts as Adjunct Professor at the University of Pau, teaching Thermodynamics of Hydrocarbon Reservoirs and Well Performance. His research interest includes phase behavior, multiphase equilibria, gas-condensate reservoirs, phase stability and criticality and compositional simulation. He had authored more than 65 peer-reviewed papers on computational thermodynamics.
