Dr. Reising is a senior partner with Human Centered Solutions (HCS) and specializes in human factors and cognitive systems engineering for 24/7 process control industries, from petroleum refining, petrochemicals, electric power generation, gas pipeline, to oil & gas production. He has more than fifteen years of programmatic and technical leadership experience in research and design of control room environments, human-machine interface design, staffing level assessment, and operations practices assessment in these industries. Since 2005, Dr. Reising has led and participated in a range of projects in North America, South Africa, Europe and Australia as a partner with HCS. Before joining HCS, Dr. Reising served as the Principal Investigator for the Abnormal Situation Management (ASM) Consortium from 2001-2005 and was the primary technical lead for human factors engineering for the Consortium from 1999-2005. Dr. Reising earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999.
