Antonino Baez

Biography Antonino Baez completed his bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering in 2002 at Veracruz Institute of Technology (Veracruz, México). The Ph. D degree in Chemical Engineering was earned at The National University of Mexico in 2009 working in the production of recombinant proteins. From 2010 to 2011, Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, UCLA, USA working in bioprocess development for biofuel production. From 2011 to 2015 Visiting Fellowship, Biotechnology Core, NIDDK, NIH, Bethesda MD, USA working in bioprocess development for recombinant protein production. From 2015 to Present. Associate Professor at Department of Applied Biotechnology, Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico. I oversee a pilot plant dedicated to the production of microbial inoculants with dual functions: plant growth promotion and bioremediation. I am currently working on the discovery of new antimicrobial compounds for multidrug-resistant bacterial strains.
