Alfred Hagemeyer

Dr. Alfred Hagemeyer is self-employed since 2018 and co-founder of the contract research company Alvacat offering custom catalyst development for industrial clients. Before starting up Alvacat, he worked as a Distinguished Scientist at Rennovia from 2011 to 2018 to apply high throughput methodologies to the discovery of catalysts for the valorization of bio-renewable feedstocks. Before joining Rennovia, Alfred was Group Leader at the Catalysis Lab of Sud-Chemie developing catalysts for the gas-phase oxidation of commodity chemicals. Prior to joining Sud-Chemie in 2006, he was Distinguished Scientist at Symyx Technologies, conducting high-throughput catalysis research across a wide range of applications. Before moving to Symyx in 1998, Alfred was a Senior Scientist with Hoechst and Project Leader with BASF after Post-Doctoral Research at Bologna University. Alfred has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Max-Planck-Institute of Polymer Research, Mainz, a M.Sc. in Physics and a M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Dortmund.
