Dr. Timothy Hopkins is the Technology Director for Newark Area Technology Sites and Grant Strategy at The Chemours Company. With over twenty years of experience in chemical industry technology management, Dr. Hopkins has been instrumental in driving innovation and advancing research initiatives at both The Chemours Company and DuPont. He is responsible for developing strategies to effectively utilize grants and government contracts to advance business objectives. As the Site Director, Dr. Hopkins oversees the safety, compliance, maintenance, quality, and operation of Chemours’ Global R&D headquarters, the Chemours Discovery Hub located at STAR campus, and the process development organization.
Dr. Hopkins holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Chemistry from Missouri State University, and a B.A. in Chemistry from Blackburn University. He serves on the boards of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, The Newark Partnership, and The University of Delaware Research Foundation. Additionally, he is a member of the University of Delaware Material Science and Engineering and the Delaware Technical Community College Chemistry Advisory Boards, the Newark Free Library Capital Campaign Advisory Committee, and the American Chemical Society.
