With an increasing number of refiners now implementing digital monitoring tools to benefit process performance, operations personnel now have immediate access to technical experts for performance assurance and operational recommendations. Axens has developed a remote process monitoring system, Connect’In™ that continuously monitors and analyzes process data, applies high fidelity kinetic predictive models, to provide engineers and operators with highly valuable process insights and recommendations. Our customized monitoring solution is configured to send alarms to both Axens’ technical experts as well as the client personnel, with the objective that when operational disturbances occur, our technical experts provide the right guidance on next steps, thereby providing the greatest impact to process safety, performance assurance and operational excellence.

This paper will highlight case studies in reforming and hydroprocessing, which highlight the impact of process monitoring to ensure optimal process performance.
