Industrial Control System (ICS) Cybersecurity is a major topic of concern in the energy industry today. This is primarily driven by the two imminent needs: identifying and minimizing current risk exposures – the seriousness of which has been emphasized by the recent attacks against safety instrumented systems – and paving the way for achieving higher level of productivity in the digital age.

As the businesses strive towards more integration between process operations and enterprise to benefit from knowledge centralization, data mobility, artificial intelligence, etc., cybersecurity capabilities of ICS vendors must also mature to be able to support customers’ digitalization strategies.

In this presentation we will report on CCC’s cybersecurity journey as we utilize ISA/IEC 62443 series of standards in implementing Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) into the organization – from design, delivery, to lifecycle support. Methods adopted through its product development process are outlined – including vulnerability identification testing and communication robustness testing – as well as product and service developments for defense-in-depth.

As a part of CCC’s digitalization solutions, a series of new product capabilities will also be demonstrated – including model-based input validation, turbomachinery performance monitoring, and secure remote access to high-quality turbomachinery control data.
