In this work, a new kind of linear nanocomposite produced by carbon nanotube(CNT) as pour point depressant (C2-100) was developed by blending with MCNT nanoparticle and copolymer named Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). Its effect of reducing yield stress and modifying the morphology of wax agglomerate were also evaluated. Besides, the synergetic effect of C2-100 nanocomposite with the magnetic field was also conducted. The mechanism of modifying rheological behavior of waxy crude oil was studied through molecular simulation method, which aims at understanding the interaction between this nanocomposite and wax molecule. The results indicated that C2-100 nanocomposite could reduce the yield stress of waxy crude oil more effectively than the copolymer (EVA) even at low concentration, as well as changing the morphology of wax crystals and agglomerate. Moreover, its effect of reducing yield stress becomes more obvious when the alternate magnetic field was applied. In addition, the results of molecular simulation also presented that the effect of improving rheological behavior of C2-100 nanocomposite is related to the adsorption behavior of wax molecules on the surface of MCNT nanoparticle, which is adsorbed with EVA molecules. In addition, the adsorption behavior of different fragments of EVA molecules can also influence the adsorption behavior of wax molecules on the surface of EVA-attached MCNT nanoparticle, which may influence the effect of C2-100 to improve the rheological behavior of waxy crude oil.
