2025 ChemE-Sports Competition | AIChE

ChemE-SportsTM Competition

This year’s program will feature a hybrid ChemE-Sports Competition on optimization and safety, open to all undergraduate AIChE student members, based on a distillation unit combining Virtual Reality with a Distributed Control System.

All competitors will work through multiple scenarios. The competitors will be given real-life scenarios that could be observed in a plant and an objective to complete within a given timeframe. Scoring will be based upon both the profitability and the safety of the unit during the simulated run for each team.

Students may compete in groups of 1-4. If you have questions, contact Robert G. Bozic Ph.D./LTC(USA(Ret.) at robert.bozic@columbia.edu. When you have full student names, student email addresses, and student team captain cleary designated, then sign up now!

Registration deadline: Friday, September 26th, 2025
