New Funding Opportunities at NSF and Program Officer Panel Discussion

Chair(s)

Gupta, R., Virginia Commonwealth University

Co-chair(s)

Read, C., National Science Foundation

Second of two sessions on initiatives at the National Science Foundation (NSF). This session will feature talks by the NSF Division of Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental, and Transport Systems (CBET) Division Director and Program Officers on opportunities within their programs. Everyone is welcome to attend. NSF is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense..." With an annual budget of about $10.94 billion (FY 2023), we are the funding source for approximately 24 percent of all federally supported basic research conducted by America's colleges and universities. In many fields such as mathematics, computer science and the social sciences, NSF is the major source of federal support.
