This presentation highlights the exceptional contributions of Professor L.-S. Fan as a green engineering educator and innovator in Taiwan. Throughout his career, Fan has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to education and has mentored faculty and students at various institutions, including National Taiwan University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. His creative ability has resulted in numerous scholarly contributions to literature and inventions that have made a significant impact on the field of green engineering in Taiwan. It is worth noting that Professor Fan's advice on CO2 mineralization technologies in Taiwan has led to several SCI publications, including Nature Sustainability and Environmental Science & Technology. These technologies have also been tested in local industries, such as China Steel Corp., demonstrating their practical application and impact in the field of green engineering. In addition to his work in education, Professor Fan has contributed to the development and deployment of green engineering in industry through consulting and government service in Taiwan. He is also recognized as an academic leader and innovator, not only in Taiwan but throughout the world. Fan's many years of research and education have led to significant contributions in the science and practice of green science, technologies, and engineering for environmental sustainability. He is particularly well-known for his contributions to chemical looping technology, which have garnered recognition globally. Beyond his outstanding achievements in education and research, Professor Fan has also served as a member of the international advisory committee for the Carbon Cycle Research Center (CCRC) at National Taiwan University for over a decade. He has continuously organized the Green Energy Conference in Taiwan every year, facilitating the exchange of information on clean energy and CO2 capture and utilization technologies.
