Much of the food-related research in chemical engineering has been focused "beyond the farm gate": i.e., after crops are grown and harvested in the field. This session will provide a roadmap for how chemical engineering fundamentals can be applied to enhance crop production and protection while reducing water and energy inputs and decreasing adverse environmental impacts from agriculture.
