The St. Louis Chapter of the AIChE is invited to attend an organ concert and virtual tour on Wednesday, December 9 at 6:30 pm at the Scottish Rite Cathedral at 3633 Lindell Blvd.  Free parking is available in the Scottish Rite parking garage located behind the Cathedral on Olive Blvd., and a Skybridge on the 3rd floor of the parking garage leads directly into the Cathedral.  There is no cost for admission, but the Scottish Rite appreciates free - will donations to help defray the cost of heat and electricity for the evening.

The Kimball Organ was built in 1924, has 3,907 pipes (give or take a few) and was only one of three built by Kimball that is suitable for Symphony, Church and Theatre styles of performance.  It was completely restored in 2018.  There are three pipe chambers within the auditorium, that provide surround sound as it was done in the 1920's and before.

The evening will start with a short presentation of the organ, and a virtual tour to explain its many features, followed by a short concert. The audience is invited to see the console after the presentation and performance.
