Dave Waddell - Rehab the Lab

Do you work in a lab, wish you work in a lab, remember fondly the good old days in the lab, and wonder if the crazy things that go on in your lab happen to others?

Dave Waddell has visited more U.S. labs than perhaps anyone else you will meet. School labs, research labs, biotech, commercial analytical labs, he has braved them all. He has seen the “boom room,” the containers of mercury hiding under the sink, bottles labeled “methol something” and cupboards labeled “stinky closet.” If you haven’t heard the tale of the exploding rodents, now’s the time. Without divulging the sources (or the culprits), hear what happened to the sputnik-era chemistry kits, the bromine lecture cylinders and the legacy chemicals left in the garage by the retired chemist.

Learn valuable tips for keeping your lab from becoming the next photo opportunity. Bring your weird waste questions and he may have some advice for you. Learn why Dave has a T-shirt that says “I’m a bomb technician. If you see me running, try to keep up.” Through 20 years of training and getting graded by teachers, Dave has researched how people learn and adapted his presentation techniques to greatly enhance their  effectiveness. He’ll share several presentation strategies that you can use.
