Our September Meeting will be at LIGO in Livingston Parish for a tour of the facility.   The date is Saturday Sept. 16th @ 11am for a 2 hour tour.    The tour is Free for both members and non-members.   LIGO is a Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory.   The facility is one of  two wave detectors that operate in tandem.    They have now been successful at detecting three instances of gravitational waves emanating from collapsing black holes.   The tour will last two hours and a lunch provided afterwards at the picnic grounds.

Cost of the lunch will be $15 for members, $10 for students and $18 for non-members.     2 PDH credits will be awarded for the event.

If you would like to sign up for the tour please contact cbourdon@hargrove-epc.com so that the correct number of lunches can be prepared.
