AIChE’s Disabilities Outreach & Inclusion Community (DORIC) is holding a workshop at our AIChE Spring Meeting on March 13th in Houston, TX, where we’ll convene representatives from industry ERGs and other stakeholders to discuss how we can work together to bring more awareness and representation of engineers who identify as having a disability. I’m reaching out to you to identify the appropriate ERG lead from your company to attend.
The workshop will include an overview of DORIC, a presentation on an exciting NSF-funded project, Mapping for Accessible Built Environments (MABLE), aimed at improving accessibility in both digital and built environments for persons with disabilities to improve quality of life and employability of persons with disabilities long-term, followed by small-group breakout discussions.
Workshop Overview:
- What: Interactive workshop that combines presentations and small-group breakouts to identify ways that AIChE and industry can work together to bring more chemical engineers who identify as having a disability into the talent pool. Refreshments will be served during the workshop.
- Who: Representatives from industry ERGs, DORIC members, and other stakeholders
