Opportunity for YPs extended

[March 6, 2020] The Management Division is extending its program to help division member YPs (35 or younger) to attend the 2020 AIChE Annual Meeting. For YPs that are just starting out their careers, attending an AIChE conference can be expensive, sometimes prohibitive, if you don’t have financial support from your employer. Yet, attending the conference can lead to professional and personal development that adds value to the individual and the chemical engineering community.

Requirements to apply for the grants include:

• Present a paper at the conference and share a slide about the Management Division in your presentation
• Attend Management Division events: Board meeting, two sessions (come and interact with some of the Board members to confirm attendance), and Division dinner

Grant recipients can receive the following:

• Registration: 50% of the early registration fee (these amounts differ for professionals, students and unemployed members. Maximum of US$350.)
• Travel: US$200 subsidy
• Ticket to the Management Division dinner

To apply for this grant, submit the following items by email to cuthomas@mmm.com no later than August 15, 2020. Your subject line should say: “AIChE Management Division YP grant application”.

1. An essay describing how you will use the grant to grow professionally and strengthen your management skills (maximum of 250 words)
2. Your CV, with an emphasis on AIChE involvement
3. The category under which you would register, in order to determine the grant amount (since 50% of the registration will be offered)

Grants will only be provided on a need basis, against valid receipts for AIChE registration and travel. If your employer supports your travel to the AIChE Annual Meeting you would not qualify for this grant. The grant will be presented as a reimbursement check, as soon as possible after receiving the corresponding receipts.
