
Yogendra Shastri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Powai Mumbai. He did B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from LIT Nagpur, M.Tech. in Systems and Control Engineering from IIT Bombay, and PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Subsequently, he was a post-doctoral research associate at the Energy Biosciences Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research work focuses on developing and applying systems theory based tools for sustainable development. Specific areas of interest include biomass to energy systems, life cycle assessment, supply chain design, municipal solid waste management, and system dynamics. He also teaches a course on sustainable engineering at IIT Bombay. He has over 60 publications in peer reviewed journals, five book chapters, and on edited book to his credit.
