Wesley E. Lohec

Wesley E. (Wes) Lohec, 55, is vice president, Health, Environment and Safety, for Chevron Corporation, a position he has held since 2011. He is responsible for leading Health, Environment and Safety strategic planning and issues management, compliance assurance, and emergency response. He also is responsible for Chevron’s Environmental Management Company, which manages environmental remediation and abandonment liabilities.

Previously, Lohec served as managing director of the Latin America strategic business unit from 2008 to 2011 for Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company in Caracas, Venezuela, and was responsible for business in the region.

Lohec has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in drilling, production engineering, operations, human resources, asset management and business planning. From 2005 to 2008 he was general manager of business planning for Chevron International Exploration and Production Company. From 2002 to 2005 Lohec was manager of production operations in Angola responsible for Chevron’s Blocks 0, 2 and 14 production activities.

Lohec is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas. Lohec joined Chevron in 1981 as a drilling engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1981.
