As Global Regulatory Affairs Manager, Tahmid leads a team responsible for identifying, assessing, and responding to regulatory developments impacting the Fuels & Lubricants business. Prior to this role, he was the Senior Technology Advisor for the Exxon Mobil Corporation and provided guidance in assessing strategic technology opportunities and challenges. Over his career with ExxonMobil, Tahmid led teams that developed technologies for producing ultra-low sulfur fuels, for making advantaged lube basestocks, for modeling refining processes, and for improving the energy efficiency of refineries.
Tahmid earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is an inventor on patents on clean fuels, biofuels, lubes, and energy efficient processes. Tahmid has served on national and international expert panels on transportation and sustainable energy use.
