Sudipta Bishop is Senior Director of R&D at Koroseal Interior Products. She earned her PhD in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and has an international academic background, having studied in India, Germany, and the United States. Before coming to the U.S. for her doctoral studies, she studied at the Max Planck Institute for Kohlenforschung in Germany.
Sudipta began her career as a chemical engineer at Johnson Matthey, where she worked in heterogeneous catalysis and process intensification. After six years in Cleveland, Ohio, she moved to Houston, Texas around 2010 to work as a group leader at Celanese Chemical.
Following the birth of her twins, she moved to Tennessee and joined Eastman Chemical Company. Over the next 10 years, she held five leadership roles across manufacturing, R&D, global analytical, and product and marketing divisions.
She later moved to Louisville, Kentucky to serve as Director of the North and South America Process Technology division at Clariant Chemicals. She then joined Koroseal Interior Products as Senior Director of R&D, where she leads innovation, sustainability, quality, and EHS efforts while supporting productivity at the Louisville plant.
Outside of work, Sudipta enjoys reading, singing Indian classical music, and mentoring people with a curiosity for science. She is also busy supporting her two teenagers’ activities, including Taekwondo and robotics.
