Stephen is the petrophysics and engineering manager at Core Laboratories where he has worked for 11 years with a total of 17 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He specializes in reservoir engineering with a particular focus on fracturing and completions. Before joining Core Lab, Stephen worked as a fracturing engineer and instructor with Halliburton.
Since 2021, Stephen has managed Core Laboratories’ CCUS JIP which investigates various considerations related to carbon storage with a focus on laboratory testing and modeling. Special focus areas in the study have been containment, effects of CO2 reactivity, and relative permeability. In conjunction with these activities, he also supports core analysis projects for carbon storage prospects across the globe guiding the integration and application aspects of these projects.
Stephen studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) having authored and presented multiple papers at various conferences and workshops on subjects including hydraulic fracturing, reservoir analysis, and laboratory analysis related to proppant transport and carbon storage.
