Dr. Monica Zanfir has been a Development Specialist in Praxair’s Hydrogen and Energy R&D Department since October 2005. Prior to joining Praxair, Dr Zanfir was a Research Fellow at University College London (UCL) for 4 years. The research developed at UCL was focused on modeling of novel multiphase reactors concepts such as: micro-falling film reactor, micro-mesh reactor and rotating disc reactor. Dr Zanfir holds a PhD from UCL, her thesis was one of the works that pioneered the concept of catalytic plate reactors for autothermal coupling of catalytic combustion and methane steam reformers. She obtained a MSc degree from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in Process Integration. Before completing her graduate degrees Dr Zanfir gained about 5 years of engineering experience related to the design of mineral fertilizer complexes in her native country Romania. Dr Zanfir is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and holds Corporate Membership of IChemE.
