Director of Nuclear Fuel Cycle Strategy
Idaho National Laboratory

Dr. Regalbuto is a leader in the development of nuclear fuel cycle technologies. She has over 30 years of experience in radio-isotope processing, recovery and immobilization for environmental remediation, resource conservation and medical applications. She currently leads the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Strategy, at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). In this role she is responsible for creating and leading the strategy, securing funding, developing the work force, and integrating resources and facilities among multiple ALD-ships across the INL’s 890-square-miles site. In support of INL’s new strategy, she established the INL’s High Assay Low Enriched Uranium (HALEU) program, which enables tomorrow’s nuclear fuel cycle for deployment of advanced reactors. Dr. Regalbuto supports the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) non- proliferation objectives as a member of the Plutonium Non-proliferation Center for the recently established Non-proliferation Stewardship Program (NSP). In addition, she serves as a member of (1) the Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and (2) the Standing Advisory Group on Nuclear Energy (SAGNE) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which advises the Director General.
