
Mr. Gresho is the President of FP2FIRE, INC, a small consulting company specializing in Fire Protection Engineering. Mr. Gresho is a registered professional Fire Protection Engineer in multiple states including CA and CO and a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers at the level of Professional grade. Mr. Gresho has experience in both the commercial sectors of fire protection and code enforcement with an emphasis in hazardous materials requirements and general fire protection at commercial (industrial, power generation, high rise, health care, R&D, and others) facilities. Mr. Gresho serves on several NFPA Technical Committees charged with continued development of fire safety codes (NFPA 2 Hydrogen – former Chair; NFPA 55 Industrial and Medical Gases – Principal; NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials – Principal). Mr. Gresho served as the Fire Marshal at Sandia National Laboratory’s California site for more than 15 years with oversight responsibility for all fire protection systems and code compliance site-wide for a wide variety of HAZMAT related challenges. Mr. Gresho has a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering (1995 – Colorado School of Mines) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (1985 – University of California, Davis). Mr. Gresho lives in rural Colorado and served 10 years (now retired!) on the volunteer fire department (Coal Creek Canyon) in Colorado as an emergency medical responder (medical), firefighter, and hazardous materials responder (Operations level). Mr. Gresho continues to serve as Fire Marshal.
Recently (2014) Mr. Gresho became aware of the use of hydrogen in weather balloons by the National Weather Service. NWS asked for help in safely converting balloon inflation sites from helium to hydrogen.
