Martin Brudermüller is Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of
BASF SE, a position he assumed in May 2011. He is currently responsible for
the divisions Petrochemicals, Monomers, Intermediates, Process Research
& Chemical Engineering, Innovation Management, Digitalization in
Research & Development, BASF New Business, as well as Corporate
Technology & Operational Excellence.In addition, he is,since May 2015, Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Brudermüller has been a member of the Board of Executive Directors since 2006, and during this time he was also responsible for the Asia Pacific region headquartered in Hong Kong, as well as the Performance Materials division. Prior to this, since 2003, he was President of the Functional Polymers division. From 2001 to 2003 he was Senior Vice President Strategic Planning.
 
Brudermüller was born in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1961. From 1980 onwards
he studied Chemistry at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and received
his degree there in 1985. After earning his doctorate in Karlsruhe in 1987, he
did a postdoc at the University of California, Berkeley, United States.
