Konstantin Severinov, Ph.D., D.Sc., is a Principal Investigator for the Waksman Institute and a Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He also heads research laboratories in the Russian Academy of Sciences Institutes of Molecular Genetics and Gene Biology in Moscow. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, a Senior Fulbright Scholar, and a member of the Scientific Council of Russian State Corporation Rusnano. Scientific interests include the mechanisms of gene expression in bacteria and development of new antibiotics. Dr. Severinov authored and co-authored more than 170 research papers in top scientific journals and holds six international patents.
