Dr. Kathrin Fenn is a Principal Scientist and the Organism Development Platform Lead at Cultivarium, a nonprofit creating tools for life scientists to expand access to novel microorganisms. She obtained her PhD from Northeastern University in Boston, MA exploring bacterial uncultivability in the gut microbiome and went on to perform postdoctoral research at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health studying the effects of probiotics on intestinal inflammation, a cross-organizational project with Danone Nutricia Research. Prior to joining Cultivarium, her work at Seres Therapeutics supported the first FDA-approved oral live biotherapeutic.
