John Mattila is Sr Director of Purification Process Development at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he leads R&D purification spanning preclinical manufacturing to late-stage process definition. John believes in the power of innovative medicines to improve lives, and he joined Regeneron so he could help bring important new medicines to patients. His early years were at the bench developing purification processes for Fc-fusion proteins. Since then, he has developed or overseen development of purification processes for nine FDA-approved biologics and 60+ investigational new drugs, and he has published in the field of viral clearance. John holds a bachelor’s degree of Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and he has more than 21 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical process development.
