Jennifer Bitz is a seasoned process safety expert with over 30 years of experience in the chemical and process industries. She currently serves as the Lead Process Safety Engineer and Project Manager at the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS), a division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Jennifer has worked in both industry and consulting, performing PHA and LOPA, developing corporate and plant process safety programs, writing procedures, conducting RBPS and regulatory PS audits, and analyzing fire, explosion, and toxic release hazards.

At CCPS, Jennifer plays a pivotal role in advancing process safety knowledge and practices. She has contributed to over 20 CCPS books and monographs, providing expertise and technical writing. She co-authored an article titled “Is a Process Safety Journey in Your Future?” in the October 2023 issue of CEP Magazine, providing guidance for engineers interested in pursuing a career in process safety. She manages the CCPSC: CCPS Process Safety Professional Certification program.

Jennifer holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Rice University, and the CCPSC® Certification. She previously held PSM and HSE Management positions with Nouryon and NCTI and consultant positions at ABS, PSRG, and aeSolutions.
