James Beall is a principal process control consultant at Emerson Automation Solutions, where he spends most of his time in customers’ plants implementing process control improvement projects. He has more than 38 years of experience in process control and instrumentation, with expertise in process instrumentation, control valve performance, control strategy analysis and design, advanced regulatory control and loop tuning, and multivariable model predictive control (MPC). He is a contributing author to Process/Industrial Instruments and Controls Handbook, Sixth Edition. Beall has a BS in electrical engineering from Texas A&M Univ.
