TotalEnergies

Herve Gross serves as the Vice President of Research and Development for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) in North America at TotalEnergies. He coordinates partnerships between TotalEnergies and various American institutions to implement carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and storage technologies on a large scale. Dr. Gross collaborates with Stanford University, Chevron, and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to develop advanced open-source tools for forecasting geological carbon dioxide storage. One of these tools, called GEOS, focuses on simulating the geomechanical and fluid transport aspects of large-scale, long-term geological carbon storage. Dr. Gross earned both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Energy Resources Engineering from Stanford University. Prior to his current role, he worked as a reservoir engineer at Chevron and co-founded a startup that specialized in geostatistics and spatial data modeling.
