Currently employed as a Chief Scientist in the Technology and Innovation group of SABIC Corporation’s Specialties Business.  Have also held positions as an Operations Manager and Manufacturing Engineering Leader for other large international corporations.  Graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana with degrees in Chemical Engineering and German language translation.
Over thirty-five years in the chemical industry with broad expertise covering plant operations, research and development and all phases of engineering design and plant construction.  Fully versed in multi-discipline task force based project execution including experience in leading small, medium and large process, technology and project teams both in the home office, or on assignments in North America, Western Europe, Russia and China. 
Plant operations experience spans from day-to-day tactical support to yearly strategic planning with involvement in all aspects (for example, batch or continuous, equipment and process troubleshooting, reliability, energy and material usage, waste minimization).  Experienced with the design and operation of all common chemical plant unit operations as well as unit those concerning solids and slurry handling, solids drying/calcining and effluent treatment.
R&D experience encompasses process conceptualization, process development, and process redesign from a hands-on to program leadership perspective.  Focus is on providing a robust solution/design, ensuring proper scale up from pilot plant to commercial operation, seeking process intensification to reduce capital cost and evaluating risks for mitigation.
