His research interests include the study of the gut microbiota involvement in drug metabolism, neurodegenerative diseases, and human health. He uses personalised microbiome-host models, employing them with experimental data to investigate microbiome-host co-metabolism.
He earned his Master’s degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, in 2019, with a research thesis on doping analyses conducted at the WADA Antidoping laboratory of Rome.
