
Christopher Bannochie graduated from St. John's University, Cum Laude in 1984. He received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1989. He has been a Senior Fellow Scientist at Savannah River National Laboratory since 1991, as well as Manager, Procedures & Training since May 2019. He has served in many ACS local and national offices, the most recent being the Committee on Nominations & Elections, 2019-21. He is a member of the National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals, Board of Directors, since 2009; the Savannah River Site Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Employees and Allies Association President since 2009; the American Association for the Advancement of Science; and ACS Divisions: Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, and professional relations. He has also received many honors including ACS Fellow, 2009, Division of Professional Relations Louis J. Sacco Award, 2014, and the ACS, E. Ann Nalley Southeastern Regional Award for Volunteer Service, 2012.
