Brian Powers currently serves as Vice President of the Americas region for SABIC.
Prior to joining SABIC in May 2022, Powers held leadership positions in sales, marketing, product management, business development, and business management during his time with DuPont de Nemours and The Dow Chemical Company. He most recently served as director of Mergers & Acquisitions for DuPont Water Solutions.
As the SABIC Americas Vice President, Powers is responsible for the company’s strategic plan in the region, including profitability, growth and people, while keeping safety and compliance in the forefront. He also works to ensure SABIC is delivering on sustainability goals, including net zero carbon milestones and development of circular products under the TRUCIRCLE™ Portfolio.
Powers serves on the board of directors of the American Chemistry Council and is the President of SABIC Innovative Plastics US. In March 2023, Powers was appointed to the Board of Directors of Gulf Coast Growth Ventures LLC, a joint venture between ExxonMobil and SABIC located in Coastal Bend community of Texas.
Powers is a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He serves on the advisory board for FOSSI (Future of STEM Scholars Initiative), a group which provides scholarships to students studying science, technology, engineering and math degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Powers holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan and various post-graduate business certifications.
